The Mileseey Laser Distance Measurer is a tool that makes a big difference to planning and fitting bathroom wall panels. Measuring a wall is a key part in planning your bathroom and a LDM makes a tedious task simple with the click of a button.
To calculate the number of panels we use a simple formula (width of wall / width of panel). To get the measurement you would typically use a tape measure which isnt straightforward when measuring a long wall and the measurement for ceiling height. A LDM makes this task fast, accurate and at the click of a button.
I looked at LDM’s in the past but just couldnt see the practical benefit to justify the cost but I tripped over the Mileseey Laser Distance Measurer and for the price (view price on Amazon) it is now a must have tool.

Whether I needed to measure a room’s dimensions or determine the distance between objects, this LDM changed how I work.
I had become accustomed to the floor to ceiling measurement – bend the tape and make an educated guess as to the measurement in the fold. A LDM does that accurately with a single click.
This level of accuracy is crucial when planning out a wall panel installation and this Mileseey Laser Distance Measurer (LDM) will measure distance and calculate area plus volume.
The floor to ceiling measurement is worth the purchase price on its own.

Accuracy
I have tested this on multiple occasions and find it is within 1mm of a tape. The specs state there is a tolerance of 2mm but for wall panels this is fine.
Imperial or Metric + Measuring Modes
The LDM measures in imperial or Metric and has modes for distance measurement, area/volume calculation and Pythagorean. For wall panels we are mainly interested in the distance measuring.

Mileseey Laser Distance Measurer | Durability and Usage
Another standout feature of the Mileseey laser distance meter is its durability. The device feels robust and well-built, capable of withstanding time in a toolbox or bag. It has a protective rubber casing that is easy to grip and should be OK with the inevitable drops.
It is IP54 rated, meaning it is resistant to dust and water splashes, which translates to you can use it both indoors and in the garden. Not sure how well it would perform outside as you cannot see the laser dot in sunlight.
I havent used it long enough to assess battery life but reading other reviews it appears to be very good. I’ll update this post with my experience after a month or so. It does have an auto shutdown feature so there is no fear of forgetting to switch it off.
Conclusion
The Mileseey Laser Distance Measurer is an easy recommendation. It has multiple applications with regards planning and installing bathroom wall panels and makes measuring more accurate and much quicker.
With the purchase price below £30 it is the perfect accessory for the wall panel installation.

Will a Laser Distance Measurer replace a tape measure?
Partly.
The LDM will replace the wall measuring function but you will still need a tape measure for measuring and marking the panels for cuts.
